Yesterday evening we submitted another set of our photos to the jury, so this morning we are free to relax or work on our reports until the results are announced in front of Kuusamo municipal council.

We all want to know how well we have done, but we are also eager to hear the judges’ tips on how we can improve our photos.

This evening, starting at 10 pm, there is a photo trek along the canyon of the “Bear Trail”. One of the participants described her experience of the walk during an interview for a documentary.

Filmed just after she got back, still starry-eyed, she said: “The silence is incredible.

Then, at around 2 o’clock in the morning, at the first hint of dawn, the birds start singing again. It’s just fantastic.”
